Framing and Matting Standards and Guidelines
The Victoria Chapter of the FCA has a specific set of standards that govern how your artwork must be matted and framed when it is to be hung at one of our shows. If your art work does not meet the Standards outlined in Standards and Guidelines for Matting and Framing Paintings, it will not be accepted for hanging.
Recently, the following changes were made to the Standards:
UNFRAMED canvasses or wood panels must have all sides painted and the staples must be on the back of the stretcher bars for canvas. Canvas paintings and wood panels that are less than 1.5 inches deep must be framed.
* Artwork that does not meet the standards may be refused. *
